About the Goods:

I dye all Hey Lady Hey yarns and fiber here in my studio in Carthage, North Carolina. Living on a homestead in the woods, I have utmost respect for our land and waterways, therefore I make use of low water and low environmental impact dye processes. I use both acid and natural dyes safely, responsibly, and with as little waste as possible. All yarn, fiber, and tools are sourced from North American companies.

About the Maker:

Hey Lady Hey is run solely by me, Melissa Stajda. I'm a native Michigander, but I've made central North Carolina my home for the last decade. Years ago I started my fiber journey by learning to knit, then tried my hand at spindle spinning shortly after, and my obsession with yarn and fiber began. In the Summer of 2014 I attended the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and fell down the fiber hole. At that festival I witnessed all aspects of the fiber industry: sheep farmers, shearers, mill owners, hand spinners, weavers, dyers, tool makers. I gained the highest respect for the community behind the fiber industry, and hope to contribute to it's future growth. You can often find me on YouTubeRavelry, and Instagram sharing my knowledge and experience with fellow fiber artists.
